"I called Havenridge on a Tuesday and we still had our apartment on Friday. My son never knew anything was wrong. That's the whole point."

Our story

Thirty-eight years of showing up on the same block.

Havenridge® began in 1988 as a single after-school room in a Beacon Hill church basement, run by two teachers who kept buying groceries for their students. Today we work across King County – but the model hasn't changed. Ask families what they need.

What we believe

Poverty is not a character trait – it is a set of removable obstacles. A missed dental appointment becomes a missed week of school. A $900 rent gap becomes a new zip code and a new school mid-year. We fund the small, unglamorous interventions that keep a child's life continuous.

We do it in partnership with the schools, clinics, and neighborhood groups that were already there – and we measure whether it worked.

1988
Founded as the Havenridge Study Room – 14 students, 2 volunteers.
2004
The Haven Fund launches after a winter of eviction notices across the district.
2016
First mobile clinic rolls out with Willow Creek Pediatrics.
2026
4,280 children and caregivers served – our largest year, and the smallest overhead ratio in our history.
